In the heart of San Clemente, something powerful happens when neighbors come together to serve one another.
At Community Outreach Alliance (COA), we believe that community is built through compassion, action, and connection. As a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in San Clemente, we are dedicated to helping local youth, families, seniors, and military members stay healthy, active, and supported through free community programs. Since 2013, COA has been creating meaningful opportunities for people across South Orange County to give back, receive support, and build stronger lives together.
What We Do: COA Food Connection + COA Entertainment
Our mission is built around two powerful programs that serve different but equally important needs in our community.
COA Food Connection
COA Food Connection helps provide free nutritious groceries, hygiene products, and essential resources to hundreds of individuals and families every month throughout San Clemente and surrounding South Orange County communities.
From seniors living on fixed incomes to struggling families and military members needing extra support, Food Connection helps ensure that no one feels forgotten. Weekly food distributions serve over 1,400 individuals monthly, creating both immediate relief and long-term hope. It also provides volunteer opportunities for teens and adults looking to complete service hours while making a real impact.
COA Entertainment
COA Entertainment is where music meets mentorship.
Through Open Mic Nights and live performance opportunities, local youth and young adults have a safe, sober place to express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others through music. COA Entertainment creates healthy alternatives for young people, helping them stay away from drugs and alcohol while finding purpose in creativity and community.
It’s more than music—it’s belonging.
Why Volunteering Matters
COA is powered entirely by volunteers.
That means every food box packed, every event set up, every donation secured, every social media post shared, and every senior visited happens because someone chose to help.
There are no paid employees—just people with big hearts who care deeply about making South Orange County a better place.
Whether you’re a student needing community service hours, a parent wanting to serve with your kids, a professional looking to give back, or someone simply searching for purpose, there’s a place for you here.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Food distribution setup and delivery
- Store pickups and food sorting
- Senior outreach and companionship
- Grant writing and donor outreach
- Social media and email marketing
- Event support for COA Entertainment
- Open Mic Night setup and promotion
- Board member opportunities
All ages are welcome to volunteer. Closed-toe shoes and a willingness to help are all you need.
Your Donation Creates Full Plates + Full Hearts
Because COA is 100% volunteer-run, every donation goes directly toward helping people in our community.
