Community Outreach Alliance is proud to endorse Be Well OC’s and the OC Health Care Agency’s “Be a Friend for Life” youth suicide prevention campaign.
Each day in the U.S. there are an average of over 5,400 suicide attempts by young people grades 7-12. And in OC, the highest rate of increase in suicide attempts were by those between the ages of 15-19 years old. But – with the right tools & support – suicide is preventable.

If you think you know someone at-risk of suicide and are unsure how to help them, there are youth suicide prevention services available to help empower meaningful action that can save lives.

For flyers, videos and more information in multiple languages, including warning signs and advice on how to help those at-risk of suicide, go to www.beafriendforlife.com for help. For community members seeking immediate support, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255), a free and confidential telephone service, is available 24/7.

It is important now more than ever to take care of yourself and each other, supporting all of our mental and physical health. We are all in this together.

Be strong, be proactive, be a friend for life.
